First... an interesting stop in Sequim. Tony (who's crotch is illuminated in this picture) and Lisa pose in front of "The Salmon Bringer" totem pole carved by Dale Faustitch that they (along with Jen McD) got to help carve a bit of on the Red Head Road/Backpacking Trip 2006 (pictures of said carving are on that link) It was installed/dedicated last fall and this was the first time we got to see it in it's completion.
(L to R) here we (Sandra, Lisa, John, Mel, Becky and Tony) are ready to hit the trail, the gang heading up the beach, exploring, John and Mel cross the mouth of the creek hoping to beat high tide, Sandra and Becky think better of the incoming tide, they go for the log crossing
(L to R) what a great camp spot, Mel and Becky filtering water from my "super secret squirrel spot", on of two bald eagles roosting above our camp that woke us up while squabbling in the morning, wine on a tree, Lisa and John enjoy cocktail hour, food porn (dinner) on the grill, cocktail hour treats included: smoked salmon, Greek olives, shrimp cocktail, wine, cheese and crackers
(L to R) friends celebrate the awesome weather and sunset
(L to R) shell and mussels, mussels, starfish, wet starfish, starfish and anemones
(L to R) SPLASH !!!
(L to R) Becky photographing the sunset, Sandra demonstrating the proper way to wine taste while backpacking, Lisa found a "friend" in the bottom of her purple titanium wine cup, John gathers firewood, Mel takes it easy, John and Mel watch the sunset, meanwhile... back at camp...
(L to R) Ranger Jim issued our permit and showed off one of his photos, we found this on shore and have no idea what it is, heading back towards "civilization", foam on the beach, John snoozing in the car, Mexican and margaritas to celebrate another great trip.
