Return to Rialto
Our annual spring backpack trip from Rialto Beach to Hole-In-The-Wall in the North Wilderness Coast area of Olympic National Park, April 2007
(click on thumbnail for full size image)
(L to R) Lisa, Don, Tony, Tim, Adrianne and Morgain at The Espresso Garden in Gardiner WA getting our espresso fix and a view of Discovery Bay and Canada (Eh?), Tim fills up his water bottle at the Mora Ranger Station, the obligatory trailhead photo, we had to climb over a lot of driftwood to even find the beach this year, Darwin the Slug and his brother Foster hitting the trail, there were lots of bald eagles (there is one in the top of this tree mocking us)
(L to R) The crossing at Ellen Creek was not easy this year, Tim takes a flying leap, Morgain waiting for everyone to make it across, Tim surveying the beach, Lisa stripped down to shorts and Chacos thinking she'd wade across in the tidal zone (didn't happen, anyplace close enough in to not get knocked over by a very rough ocean, was hip deep), Lisa's #1 goal for the afternoon (before low tide and tidepooling of course) was a nap on the beach
(L to R) Prime real estate, Lisa's "room with a view", tent city, Morgain always has her "poop trowel" at the ready, food porn (we LOVE our beach grilling), the "Ghost Tree" that we named our camp after
(L to R) Morgain tires to kill Lisa with her "poop trowel", sea stacks at sunset, the Ghost Tree at sunset
(L to R) Sea anemone, it looks like this starfish is trying to eat one, more starfish, sea snails, otter tracks, SPLASH !
And of course, lots more pictures of the beach, camp, tide pools, sunsets and other stuff
