Becky's Big Bloomsday Adventure !!!

May 4th, 2003, Spokane WA

Who is Becky, you may ask?  "Becky the Buckeye" is the official mascot of the "Penguin Brigade" Becky runs races all over the world with different members of the brigade.  She gets around, gets in trouble and gets drunk a lot.  She is a LOT of fun.  For more information about the brigade, go to http://www.waddleon.com

Becky arrives at Lisa's place in Tacoma and immediately goes for the Black Butte Porter (like this was a surprise)

This evil creature snuck up on Becky at Spokane Falls when we were taking her  picture and tried to EAT her.  BAD Marmot !!!  A long and  ugly struggle ensued and Becky was not allowed anywhere on her own after that.

Becky posing with the "Joy of Running" sculpture in Riverside Park (all first time "Bloomies" from out of town do this, it's tradition)  The sculptures were dressed with Bloomsday finishers shirts for the occasion (usually they're nekkid)

Becky at the world's largest pasta feed at Riverside Park.  When I went back several hours later for dinner, one of the servers said, "Hey, aren't you the one who was taking pictures of that nut?  What's her name again?  I've been trying to remember all day.  I think Becky broke another heart.  I mean really, this guy had served thousands, if not tens of thousands of plates of pasta.

Becky, Lisa an Barb get "exposed".   Well  Northern Exposed that is.  The town of Cecily Alaska that the series took place in is actually Roslyn Washington a mere 203 miles West of Spokane (and 100 miles East of Lisa's House) Lisa is wearing her Bloomsday finisher shirt.

While in "Cecily" it is customary to go to "The Brick" for a beer (would we expect any less of Becky?)

Becky relaxes on the couch at Lisa's resting up for the Hippie Chick Half  Marathon in Newburg Oregon next weekend (where she will be passed off to Pat or one of the Karens so she can eat and drink them out of house and home for a while.)
